One hand crapping

I spent £9.99 on new mouse mat today! Though it’s not actually made of solid gold, it does have its own silicone breast implant to support my weary wrist. I got it because I’ve started waking in the night to a tortuous pain in my hand and fingers, which according to my hypochondriacical diagnosis seems suspiciously like ‘carpal tunnel syndrome’.

Couple of issues here. Number one – I always thought people with RSI (repetitive strain injury) were on the blag and had found the super-highway to never having to work or open a jar of jam ever again, so I’m having to re-evaluate my opinions on that. Issue two – If I can’t use a computer then I’m fucked, I don’t know/can’t do anything else!

Let’s hope it does the trick!

Hetty over at http://thoughtoffering.blogs.com has carpal tunnel so she might be able to give you a few tips for dealing with it. Today she has posted about having a splint for it that seems to be helping.
I got a really sore wrist over the summer when I started to use a wireless optical mouse. Before going to see the doctor I changed back to a smaller regular mouse and the pain went away almost immediately.
