Well, my attempt to be uber-cool and get myself an Anya Hindmarch “I’m not a plastic bag” bag from Sainsbury’s this morning failed miserably, serves me right really, it’s only a bag!
I naively thought I would be able to wander in and purchase one on my way to work along with my egg sandwich, but no. There were only 30 assigned to each store, and as they are the thing to have, people actually camped out in order to get one when they went on sale at 8am (yes, eight) this morning.
I was way too casual about the whole thing, I can see that now, but even though I have just seen one sell on ebay for nearly £200 (they cost £5), at least I had a bit of a lie-in and maintained my dignity.
To be honest, if they’re that sought after I’d be scared of putting anything in it, which kind of detracts from the green ethos behind the whole thing. In the mean time, here’s some ideas if you want to get rid of some of those pesky plastic poisonous ones that are so evil (I particularly like the neck scarf).
