Snowing me, snowing you, a-ha!

We had snow! Proper snow. The sort of snow that piles up in big fluffy pillows over every surface, big or small, and unifies the landscape into a Narnia-like idyll that you might find on a Christmas card or a glossy brochure for a winter break in Lapland.

Obviously, this resulted in everything in the south of England coming to a complete stand-still. No trains, no busses, no school. Seventy-three percent of the 24-hour rolling news coverage was delivered by reporters in stripey scarves out in the snow. Those who did manage to get into work (me!) had to dodge snowmen built about every 50 metres. And please don’t talk to me about snowballs! Yes, we went over the top and yes, we had fun!
