I love this time of year – when you get to see little signs that winter might finally be thinking about finishing. Today, in amongst the wintry berries and christmassy robins I spotted catkins AND snowdrops. Yay!
All taken this afternoon with my Canon 5D MkII and 135mm f/2.0 lens

23 January 2012 at 12:27That last one of the robin and the one of the snowdrops are just pure joy. We have just had one of our coldest, most miserablist weekends yet. It was grey and wet and very very windy. So my daughter decided we should have a red party (she’d have a party every day if she could and the themes are always quite random but I liked the idea of a red theme on such a horrible dark weekend). And so we did. We got red juice, wore red clothes and baked cookies and decorated them with red icing. Ta-da! Be gone winter – we’re ready for spring!
