Goodness me, what can I say about the amazingly talented Jamila to do her justice? I’m so inspired by her photographic creations they’re like poems, and so professionally executed too. You really must check out more of her work, you won’t regret it.
I’m a fine art photographer based in Portland Oregon. I specialize in conceptual portraiture and love telling stories. Each of my photos are narrative driven and inspired by short stories, folktales and other ideas that come to mind. Each scene requires finding locations, assembling costumes and props. So my background in theatre and costume design comes in pretty handy to help me bring these ideas to life.
My favorite photos to create have surreal elements or a slightly altered reality, but I also enjoy creating quiet scenes that express complex emotions and thoughts.
When I’m not taking photos I’m crafting (I make resin jewelry), reading sci-fi/fantasy/steampunk literature, making costumes, hiking, baking and cooking.
