Life

It’s the most wonderful time of the year (apparently)

Today is officially the day (it happens every year) where I cease to mock all those who started preparing for Christmas in September and wish I had thought to do the same!

The other thing that happens at this time every year is that my big plan to hand-make all my Christmas cards is well and truly abandoned and I end up having to get whatever cards they have left in the supermarket so I can get them all written and posted in time.

This is also the time of year where I banish all thoughts of home-made Christmas cake, Christmas pudding, Christmas crackers… basically anything with the word ‘Christmas’ in front of it is now going to come from the shops – and to be honest, that will be a feat in itself!

Tomorrow is the office Christmas party, for which I am semi-prepared. I am 35 years old now though, and I know that mid-week drinking and frolicking (whilst being very enjoyable) will need at least a 2 day recovery period. My insensitive employers though think differently, and are actually expecting me to go back to work for the rest of the week and function as normal! I think I should be OK(ish) if I just stick to vodka… or I could always just stay drunk until the new year!
