Even though I haven’t a chance of getting anything designer past my knees ankles, I love the world of fashion – especially at this time of year when the urge to add more layers and textures is catered for with such abundance and style – whatever budget you’re on.
This year I’m extra thankful for the surge of fashion media as it has resulted in my discovering the amazingly fabulous Tavi Gevinson “the 13-year-old blogger with the fashion world at her feet“. How anyone can be that cool and unique at such a young age (at any age) is amazing. THIRTEEN!
I was always keen to look different and cool at that age, but at the same time I wanted to fit in. It was more about keeping up with what the older girls were wearing and trying to look like the girls in the crowd on Top Of The Pops. Ironically I think i I went for the ‘girl in top of the pops crowd’ look today I would be uber stylish). I love Tavi – she does her own thing for her and looks amazing! The quality of her writing is amazing too – I urge you to check her out.
