Don’t stop believing

Having an opinion, I am discovering, is a draining and ultimately disappointing experience. (I got to bed at 4am last night).

The UK election has ended up with no overall majority and rather than the people deciding, it’s once more down to wheeling dealing politicians to come up with some sort of compromise.

I’m still surprised that so many people I know don’t vote, don’t have an opinion, or are just generally not bothered by who’s running the country. I know this doesn’t make them ‘bad people’ but I can’t imagine living my own life like that (although I am sure they had more sleep last night than I did). I want to have my say and be involved; make sure things are fair and just. I’m more than happy to have a healthy debate with you if you believe in a different way of governing the country but if you don’t care at all, I guess we’ll just have to talk about the weather instead

Anyhoooooo, some light relief, it is ‘Roid Week, after all!

I think this my favourite this week – I should be thanking whoever it was that meticulously stacked these uniformly cut logs into a beautiful wall. It smelt great, kinda sappy, and almost glowed with life and organic-ness. If ever I have the need to build a wall, I will build it from logs…
