August break V

I’m going to show my age now and admit to remembering a time when supermarkets didn’t really go in for stocking huge quantities of milk or dairy products, everyone had their milk delivered to the door. Everyone. You paid the milkman by leaving the cash on the doorstep next to the milk on a Friday. As a kid if you got up early enough the milkman would let you ride along in the milk-float to the end of your road. All these innocent things seem so far behind me now – further than the 30 odd years that I remember.

It’s good to see milk is still being delivered to people much more organised than me, I bet they don’t get to ride along with the driver and eat out-of-date yoghurts though…

Both photos taken with Canon 5D MKII and 17-40mm f/4 L lens

    I remember.
And my brother and I would always want to be the first to open a new bottle…
The cream would always rise to the top, and it was sooooooooo good.
Beautiful shots, and thank you for the memory!

Well I don’t remember that far back but my grandparents/family had a family grocery store. I miss the days of someone opening the door for you, greeting you and asking if you could use any help. Nowadays you’re ignore and lucky to find someone to help you. Service just isn’t what it used to be.

Well, I still get my milk delivered. They now have an online service. I love it.

My nan has milk and eggs and orange juice delivered from the milkman. I love going round and seeing the milk bottles lined up ready to be picked up.
