Meet Antonella (such a beautiful name)! She’s a Dublin-based Italian girl starting out on her photographic journey – she uses a variety of cameras (film and digital) to capture wonderful images of her life and travels.

Where are your top 5 locations you’ve been with your camera?
- Dublin. This is the city where I’ve been living for the past six years and the one I’ll never get tired of shooting.
- Rome. I lived there for seven years before moving to Ireland. I find it extremely challenging because every time I go back (at least two times a year) I look at it with different eyes.
- Lisbon. I immediately fall in love with its gentle calming light.
- Oxford. It was such a joy to wander around it in November with a medium format camera in my hands.
- Berlin. Every time I’m there I’m in a Black and White kind of mood.

Rome, Winter Sky | Voigtländer Vitoret DR
Christ Church Meadow, Oxford | Yashica Mat-124G
What are the top 5 things you wanted to be when you grew up?
- Vet (I still have an insane love for animals, especially dogs)
- Lawyer (the kind that provides free legal help for the poor)
- Bridge Engineer (I had a bit of a thing for bridges)
- Crime novel writer (I even started writing one in my teenage years)
- Teacher (I’m getting there…)

Who are the top 5 photographer that you admire?
This is a very tough one because there are so many but I’ll try…

What are your top 5 tips for budding photographers?
I still consider myself a beginner so I’ll share a few tips I follow…
- Read (or re-read) the manual of your camera in order to know it inside-out.
- Train your eye looking carefully at what’s around you.
- Take photos regularly.
- Break out of your comfort zone and try something fresh.
- Find your own voice.

Which are your top 5 books?
- Why People Photograph by Robert Adams
- Suburbia by Bill Owens
- The Genius of Photography by Gerry Badger
- Italy: Cross Sections of a Country by Gabriele Basilico and Stefano Boeri
- The Rain Before It Falls by Jonathan Coe (this one is a novel and I’ve included it here because the story revolves around twenty photographs that represent a family’s history)
