The Olympics start tonight!
For someone like me who’s not normally that bothered by anything sporty, to be this excited about people running and jumping around for a fortnight is quite a thing! I guess though it’s hardly surprising; it’s the biggest show on earth and it is on my doorstep – I can’t wait!
I’d be hard pressed to pick a favourite sport – obviously I’m excited to see Usain Bolt do his thing plus the jumping ones are always good. How about you, any faves or recommendations about which sports will be good to watch?

28 July 2012 at 08:29Love these photos. When the games were in Vancouver, it was a blast, like a city-wide party. I like watching pretty much anything … rowing and swimming are particular favourites, tho.

30 July 2012 at 08:16Running, jumping, swimming, prancing (that’s gymnastics, by the way). I love it all. And a good thing too since we only have the BBC and there’s nothing on except the Olympics. Do you know what I also love? I love how, for once, everyone seems really excited and enthusiastic. Us Brits (and the English in particular) are usually so good at being morose and grumpy – it’s a nice change.
