Excuse any repetition here to previous posts, but this is really ALL I can think about right now. I mean, it can’t be good ‘feng shui’ to have your microwave double-up as a shoe-rack in the hallway!
- Vegetables. Lovely steamed, fresh veggies… broccolli, carrots, ooh and cabbage. A month of microwave food and take-aways has left me craving brussel sprouts!
- Being able to make proper coffee! Whilst I don’t miss the spitting of hot steam and water, I do miss that espresso buzzzzzzz.
- Not ever having to wash up ever again!! Even though it’s well into the 21st century and I live in the geekiest house in the street, gadget-wise, I have never in my life had a dishwasher… until now!! I hope there’s an instruction book with it as I honestly don’t have a clue how they work. I have this image in my mind of telescopic arms wielding round inside with a dischcloth and a mop in each hand, scrubbing at all the plates and pans… or maybe not.
- Using my new, HUMUNGOUS fridge – being able to go shopping and be able to buy something like a whole head of lettuce, knowing that it will fit in there with ease (rather than before – having to buy bags of lettuce, then sqeeze all the air of of the bag just to cram it in there)!
- Plug sockets. Lots of them!
- Shopping for nice things again, like bags and make-up and clothes. Not; plastic plinth clips, non-return waste valves and tile grout!
