By the way, was it pumpkin soup? I’m very much of the school of thought that there’s nowhwere near enough pumpkin soup here in the UK. And I should know — I’m a pub bore who don’t know nish, or something. Cheers.

Your pumpkin soup theory is, I fear, correct, as I had some of that soup and it was carrot + coriander.
