Monday moans

Oh dear, my skin hurts! I really tried to keep out of the sun over the weekend (yes, you heard right, SUN), but that is quite hard! I think the main damage was done at the big garden fair we went to on Sunday – it was in the middle of a huge playing field, so there was hardly any shelter (there’s only so long you can eek it out in the refreshment tent). I did get some cool plants though, so probably worth it. I’m always a bit cynical about the false sense of security that applying sunscreen gives you, but living with the aftereefects today, I think I need to get on board with the whole suncare routine thing. Being this pale and breaking out in freckles at the mere mention of sun is a sure sign I need to change my ways!

Ok, I’m about to bellyache some more. Sorry. My beloved habitat; the loveliest and most inspiring-est of shops in ‘West Quay’ (Southampton), is closing! I am very upset. I may organise a candlelit vigil on their last day (9th July) – they have lovely candles and candleholders, so it would be quite a scented and stylish affair! I brought (another) vase in the hope that the swelling of coffers may change their mind, but as it only came to £1.96 after the ‘end of lease’ discount, I don’t think their plans will be changing any time soon. Sigh. The only consolation is that they still have a store in Bournemouth, so I will be able to get my designer gear AND have a paddle on the beach afterwards. Coolio.
