Instant Photography

Technicolor

I am feeling pretty chuffed with myself as I managed to fix a camera (a Polaroid Spectra 2) and I am loving the pictures it takes – so full of colour, I’m not used to all this instant colour!

The film is slightly wider than square too which is a bit different – it’s a bit like watching high def tv for the first time in that for some things it’s going to be awesome but at other times the soft manually-focused caress of an SX-70 will be what is needed.

The flash goes off with every shot so I might tape some tracing paper over it to try and soften it down a bit – it was OK with these ones as the sun was shining full-blast and more than compensated for anything electronic, but in lower light it might start looking a bit harsh.

This red one is my fave – so, so red!

These are gorgeous.. It’s such a great tip to tape some tracing paper over the flash to soften it!

All of them are beautiful, but I especially love that one on the bottom … Flowering Quince? Not sure about the Spectra 2, but most Spectra cameras have a button to turn the flash off on the back …
