I managed to take me and my germs for a mini-trip out of the house today – just around town for a quick coffee and egg sarnie the a look at the circus where we pondered at what goes on in a Moscow State Circus compared to a regular circus – we thought probably all the normal stuff but with more vodka and all the outfits would be fur-trimmed…
It was in a park by the waterside so I tried to convince myself we’d made it to the seaside…
Especially as there was an ice-cream van…
And even a seagull…
After all that <sarcasm>excitement</sarcasm>, on the drive home I managed to get a few snaps using my iPad (oh, did I mention I HAVE AN IPAD!!!!) – the camera on it is pretty awesome, actually…
So, not a total washout today – it’s Bank Holiday Monday tomorrow which usually means rain but I’ve been hearing wild rumours about the possibility of sunshine. I’ll believe it when I see it!

6 May 2012 at 21:45Very nice photos, Angie! I have a “technical” question this time. Do you take square photos with the G12 directly or crop them in post work? I’m trying to find a normal -affordable- camera that will allow me to take pictures like this without cropping. Thanks!

7 May 2012 at 18:21Hi Millie – yes, you can shoot in square format with the Canon G12 – to be honest though, I think there’s a lot of digital camera out there now that will let you do this. When you’re googling for reviews etc of particular cameras, try searching for “1:1 aspect ratio” and you should be able to tell whether the camera does this or not

7 May 2012 at 11:07I am in LOVE with that dippy of the ice-cream van and bench (especially with all the pigeons)! In love I tell ya! Enjoy your bank holiday monday (the sun has managed to peek out from behind the clouds over here – wonder what it’s doing where you are).
