Camera Wars – round 2

Here we are for another round! The last bout saw the Polaroid win hands down, but that’s hardly surprising as it not only recreates an image but it also loads the photo with syrupy nostalgia and romantic nostalgia!

So, here we have a late bloomer from the park in town – it’s amazing how different these three look…

I gave the photo above (Taken with my Canon 40D dSLR) every chance by using my fabulous 85mm lens – it has the most massive depth of field – you better not ever want your backgrounds anything other than meltingly blurry when you use this chap!

Hello, Fuji Instax 200! This one is very stark and urban – this camera does it’s own thing with the focussing which can have unexpected concequences. I think this camera does better with landscapes and things that aren’t too close. (Incidently, the buillding you see behind the trees is where I went to Art College).

So lastly then, we have the Polaroid SX-70, which to be honest was probably born to take photos of roses – they seem the perfect subject matter, bringing out all its best qualities.
