Resolve

If you’re reading this then it means we all made it to 2013 – happy new year!

2013

Have you made any resolutions? I’ve made my now traditional annual promises; things like be more organised, be less fearful and get fit. This is about the 23rd time I’ve made these particular resolutions and it’s finally dawning on me that making promises like this in the new year is pointless (for me, anyhoo). Who knows though, maybe the 24th time is the charm!

So yes, getting organised. This brilliant article by (hero) Kev Meredith is certainly going to help me get my Lightroom library skills licked – coupled with this fabulous book by Scott Kelby that I received for christmas, I have no excuses really.

Talking of no excuses, and proving that it’s not the camera you have that matters, or the less than exotic location – check out Laura Elliot’s amazing capture of a bee exploring a foxglove. Gorgeous! She took the photo in her back garden with her phone and it’s the winner of a photography competition run by the National Trust.

These photos have totally inspired me to dust off my juicer and try some of these amazingly delicious flavour combos – I could just go for a ‘beet, apple + mint’ right now. (I’d love to know if you have any juicing hints or tips – I’m a total newbie to this whole juicy world).

I wanted something ‘easy’ but not too mindless to lose myself in bookwise over christmas so I splashed out 20p (20p!!!) on the Kindle version of The Expats by Chris Pavone. I love anything to do with spies and secrets and Europe – I’ve not finished it yet but it’s a real page turner! (I’m sighing now – I remember the days I would finish something like this in one sitting. OK, here’s another resolution to break; make more time for reading books).

Right, can someone please tell me, does everybody in Sweden have an incredible home? Do they all come supplied like this, only if they do I’m moving!

January means calendars – did you get a nice one for christmas? If you’re fearful of not knowing what day it is at any given moment, don’t worry – this Photoshop calendar template will help guide you through the year (and is a nifty way of displaying your photos).

Here’s to a year of wonderful adventures, both with and without our cameras.

Done! I’ve got it! I’ll start to read it as soon as I finish P D James’ latest novel… yes, I have a new addiction!
I wish you a creative and fulfilling year ahead, Angie!

      And to you, Antonella!
(I’m normally a bit hesitant about recommending novels but for 20p you really can’t go wrong)!
