Favourite social media channel

It’s amazing to think that 10 years ago this topic would have been met with a blank stare and quite a bit of head-scratching – now though it’s one of those subjects everyone has an opinion on – even when someone doesn’t use any type of social media, they want to let you know why!

I use Facebook and Twitter, but number one for me is Instagram – it’s amazing how much you can tell about a persons life from a simple picture. It satisfies my need for visual stimulation and my nosey-parker tendancies in equal measure. Perfect!

Also, because there are fewer people there and the updates less frequent I stand half a chance of keeping up with the conversation! You can follow me on instagram as @angie_lemon – and let me know in the comments if you’re on there too so I can follow you back.

I sometimes find social media crippling…I changed my mind about facebook so that I can do that comfortably. I gave up on twitter…could never keep up with that feed. And I’m trying to get a handle on Instagram (which means I need my children to give me the ins and the outs!).

It can certainly get overwhelming at times – sometimes I force myself not to use it for a while, just to get my head together :)

Hi Angie! I love Instagram too, and it’s another venue for all the fun iphone photography apps I love to play with. I just followed you there. You can find me at @melissasovey if you want to follow back.

I have been on Facebook a long time, but had to make a decision to only “friend” people I know in real life. Considering we have lived in 5 cities in 3 different states and I am a teacher with a LOT of former students, I tend to have a lot of “friends” to keep up with!

I agree with you about instagram. It does satisfy the need for visual input! At times, I am thankful that there aren’t that many updates each day. Other days, I find it boring.

One of my favorite things is that it seems much more global. I did not know about the Russian tradition of celebrating “Victory Day” until instagram. I thoroughly enjoyed going through many of the photos of the celebration thanks to the hashtag (#) feature.

The only bad thing is this: My friends know I am interested in photography, so I feel somewhat pressured to only take “good” pictures. Things that I feel are too mundane tend to not get posted. Shame on me!

I love the global-ness of it all too – it’s the glimpses into teenagers lives I sometimes find a bit alien! :)

I love instagram! For a long time I couldn’t use it because I didn’t have a phone that supported it, and that made me crazy! But now I use it and love it. I have just followed you – I’m @janeylambert if you want to take a look. :)
