Go green!

anenome

In terms of greenness I would say I am at best a pale jade.

I was convinced we’d be annihilated by a nuclear war for the first 20 years of my life so was a late starter to ‘being green’, it just didn’t seem worth it. I made a futile attempt at collecting silver milk-bottle tops and there were certainly lots of bring-and-buy sales, that was about it.

Now though I’m better; I recycle all sorts of things – ‘bin night’ nowadays is more like a preliminary round of the Krypton Factor – so much sorting!

I do my best to ensure I don’t purchase things that are overly/unnecessarily packaged (which is hard as most things are).

For the most part though, ‘being green’ equates to ‘saving money’ and I’d be lying if I didn’t admit to that being more of a motivator.

I do care though, and I am very gratified to see it’s (reasonably) high on the agenda of most sensible political parties here in the UK
