The most boring blog post in the world

I’m giving you fair warning, this will probably be the least interesting blog post you will read all year, if I don’t write something soon though there’s a real danger of cobwebs forming over these pages! Even the photos are of boring things (although I kinda like photos of boring things).

It’s been raining a lot lately, hasn’t it. Every day this month actually. Every day since they declared a drought and banned us from using¬†hosepipes. Every. Single. Day. Apart from the days when we’ve had hailstones. On the upside though – the clouds have looked amazing.

Big Plan update – there’s good news in that I have lots and lots of notes and ideas and pointers and scribbles and post-it notes and doodles, the bad news is that I’ve realised it’s going to involve a LOT of hard work to pull it all together – this quiet interlude is me retreating for a big run-up. Or maybe I’ll just keep running!

I now have a sort of portfolio on this site! Well, I’ve made a start, anyway – it should work on all browsers (even IE6 – imagine my surprise), all devices and any size screen – I like to be inclusive if nothing else!

I honeslty can’t think of anything else to say. I’m stuck.

I think I need to do this.

All photos taken with Pentax K1000 and Kodak Ektar 100 35mm film

Do you still get milk in glass bottles? That is so fantastic. I love it!

Yes, we get milk in glass bottles! Is that unbelievably old-fashioned and quaint?

Boring-smoring! You, your pictures, your words could never be boring. In fact, quite the opposite: that picture of the milk bottles is a clasic, especially with those lovely soft pastel colors. And the other two, to me, are just incredibly romantic. So there! Going off to snoop at your portfolio now.

To be honest, I sometimes find it easier (and more creative) to take photos of ‘boring’ things – when I’m confronted with something spectacular (like when I went to the Lake District) I get a bit over-awed and struggle a bit to do juctice to what I’m seeing!

The portfolios are to die for. I love seeing your beach polaroids all together in a set. The book is out… when?

I suspect you were hoping someone would say this…

Far from the most boring blog post I have read. That one was on Petapixel and it was about how to tell which way up a USB plug goes. You have a way to go to beat that.

Your milk bottle picture is lovely.

Looking back on this I can see how it looks like I was fishing for compliments (especially as everyone has been so nice)! It wasn’t exactly the most insightful of blog entries though :)
(Everyone knows you just shove the USB into the hole and flip it over if it doesn’t make it in on the third try, don’t they)?
