Is this a humblebrag? I hope it’s not, it’s not meant to be. It’s meant to be an explantion for all the tumbleweed round these parts of late.
I realise now that whilst I had ‘a plan’, it was a little naive. I wanted ‘success’ but I didn’t take the time to step back and really try hard to envisage just what that success might look like. I just dove in head first, I always do that.
My little sideline project of creating typographic prints, I am happy to say, is flourishing! The price for this personal victory though is that every waking moment is spent printing, packaging, framing, admin-ing or (horror of horrors) doing accounts. When I get 5 minutes to myself it’s generally spent flopped in an armchair staring into space, unable to expend energy in any other direction.
Whilst I might be a little very moany on this subject I’m certainly not ungrateful – each month I get a little bit closer to being debt-free and I am amazed and delighted that so many people want stuff that I created on their walls! I’m going to stick at it and look into time-management and/or outsourcing, I know I can find a way to make this work I just need to do some clever thinking.
So needless to say, there’s dust everywhere, including on all my cameras – I did manage to take a few last Sunday though, when I took a short-cut home through the local Victorian Cemetery – there’s no showstoppers here but frankly it was a little miracle that I got out of the house with a camera so here they are!
Spotting the last signs of summer…
…the first signs of autumn…
…even something a bit wintry looking…
…and all the other stuff you get in a cemetery…
So what I am getting round to saying is that there might be bigger than usual gaps between blog posts whilst I feel my way in this new direction, but I will be back soon(ish)!
