The little things

Somedays you get to retrace steps you’ve walked a thousand times before.

If you’re lucky you’ll have a camera with you so you can capture those little details you’d not noticed before or record the ones that feel like they’re etched on your soul.

I must confess – I very nearly wiped clean the whole memory-card the day I took these, even before I’d properly looked at them. I’d had a lovely day out, but honestly, I’d seen these sights and taken these photos so many times before. I stopped myself though and went with it – I’m pleased now I gave them a chance; sometimes a little dose of the familiar can be a great way to de-stress.

I’m glad you didn’t delete them, they aren’t familiar to me so I love them. Though I do feel the same way walking to work everyday – surely there are only so many photos I can take of the same gate? :)

Please don’t ever be tempted to delete anything ever again without posting it here first. You know what they say: one person’s “bleh” is another person’s “wowza”. You didn’t know they said that? Well they do. And your pictures are all “wowza”. So there. Also, do you know that I now spend half my life (i.e. the half where I’m holding a camera) thinking to myself: what would Angie shoot? You have such an amazing eye for detail!
